Edible Insects...

Fancy some vodka with a sting in it`s tail?

Or perhaps lick a lolly with a difference?

Or maybe just some scrummy scorpion toffee....?

If the answer is yes, then those clever people at www.firebox.com
have come up with a delightful range of edible insects, (fear not, all very dead), set within a range of scrummy treats!!

For Vodka lovers, choose Scorpion Vodka, from £9.95.
"Each scorpion has been bred for human consumption and then heat-treated to remove toxins, making them 100% safe to swallow".
The Chinese Scorpions also glow under UV light,
... perfect for clubbing... !

And the Chinese scorpion is said to be a powerful aphrodisiac when eaten.. so there could be a sting in the tail after all...!

The Insectilix lollies are priced from £3.95., and come in a range of flavours such as Vodka and Scorpion, Tequila and Worm, or Pepermint and Ants.
(The Ants are said to have a peppery taste, and are claimed to give you an energy boost.)

The Toffee Scorpion , £4.95, is for those with a sweet taste.

Tasty stuff!!!

Cannabis plants found in nuns` garden

This woman wouldn`t knowingly have drugs in her garden..

There are several things you can do to guarantee yourself a place in hell when you die. Hoodwinking a bunch of nuns and growing cannabis in their garden without their knowledge is bound to be one of them.

A Greek Orthodox nunnery was turned into a cannabis plantation by two men posing as gardeners, according to police.

Acting on a tip-off, officers raided the nunnery in the village of Filiro, near the northern port of Thessalonika, and found more than 30 large cannabis plants in the enclosed garden.

"Two unknown men had told the elderly nuns in the nunnery they would like to help them with the garden and then proceeded to plant the cannabis", said a police spokesman.
"The nuns did not know what they were and assumed they were large decorative plants."

Police did not arrest the nuns, and have launched a hunt for the culprits.

There were no lame jokes about bad habits in this story....

Hermaphrodite pony finds friendship with Donkey.

Meet Tootsie - a hermaphrodite pony who lived for 12 years with his owners thinking he was female.

For most of his life the Shetland pony, who has both male and female genitalia, was thought to be a mare, and went by the name of Amy.
And to add to his confusion he has undergone a sex change operation and been rehomed - only to be shunned by his peers.

But now Tootsie finally appears to be settling in at the Bransby Home of Rest for Horses, near Lincoln.
And he has found an unlikely friend - in stablemate Derek the Donkey.

Verity Chappell, Welfare Manager at Bransby, said the other animals at the Sanctuary had not been very tolerant of the new arrival.
" He doesn`t seem to know what he is, I think behaviourally he is not sure and the other animals seemed to have an issue with him, " she said.
"Before they even touched him, we noticed they flapped their ears back, which is a sign they don`t like someone, as if to say "you`re not normal".

"We knew we were going to have to pair him off with another animal. He seems to have settled in with a little donkey called Derek. To begin with there was a little animosity, but he will remain with Derek for the rest of his life."

The Shetland, who lived with a family for all his life, was only found to be different when he was taken in by the RSPCA.
Vets are now carrying out teststo check Tootsies` chromosome levels and determine his exact sex.

Despite his upbringing as a mare,Tootsie still has an eye for the ladies.

Peter Hunt, who founded the animal rest home 40 years ago, said: "I am 75 years of age, and this is the first I have ever seen."

"He still squeals and gets excited by mares. He is full of life in that department.
If he could get near them, he would be a bit of a nuisance."
